Simli
The house is nestled in the charming Simli area, adjacent to the port of Nieuwpoort. Known for its picturesque white houses, this green residential neighborhood offers a serene setting. The client envisioned a contemporary home spacious enough to accommodate the entire family. The goal was to capture the essence of a vacation retreat while ensuring it functions as a comfortable full-time residence.
To harmonize with the typical Simli homes, we chose white as the primary color for the outdoor materials. To create visual interest, we contrasted textured brick paint and sleek, flat plasterwork on the facade. The white exterior beautifully highlights the surrounding natural landscape, enhancing the overall aesthetic and creating a striking visual contrast.
For the interior, we selected bleached wood to evoke the charm of beachside cabins, paired with warm afrormosia wood to infuse the spaces with a cozy ambiance. The exterior brickwork extends indoors, blurring the lines between inside and outside and enhancing the overall connection to the natural surroundings.
